Using less-lethal versus lethal Self Defense

In considering the purchase of less-lethal self defense weapons versus a handgun or other type of protection you have made a smart choice.  With the estimated 43 milllion people who are gun owners in the US the majority do not have legal reasons to use deadly force.  Buying firearms isn't the best choice in weapons purchasing a less-lethal weapon is an effective means of self protection and you won't cause permanent harm by using them.

While there is misconception on the use of lethal firearms, many were in belief that they could shoot anyone who assaulted them.  Criminal statues have a different view of how you use deadly force.  The use of handguns should be kept within the home for home security reasons.  What people should carry are self defense sprays, stun guns or a taser gun when they venture outside the home.  If a person forces their way into your home, and you shoot and kill them, most cases it is legal.  If you get assaulted on the street and the attacker is not using a deadly weapon, you cannot legally shoot them.

Many people, who have been attacked and used a stun gun, have taken control of their attacker and survived.  No license is required to carry these self defense weapons as is with firearms, they are very affordable and easily concealed.  Back in 2009 a good friend of mine was jogging in the park and was attacked.  She luckily had her stun gun ad stunned the attacker into oblivion.  She was able to run away and called the police who was able to apprehend the suspect as he was walking in a daze through the park.  There are many cases as this throughout the country where self defense weapons have helped someone either from a violent crime or domestic abuse.

This is just an example of how using self defense weapons an save you from an attacker.  If you choose to carry more lethal means of protection you take the risk of facing criminal charges against you.  By using less-lethal means you can prevent attacks without the risk of being charged for using deadly force.  When thinking about your self protection methods it's best to purchase less-lethal self defense weapons as pepper sprays, stun guns and taser products.
