The Power of your Voice

Did you know that by using the power of your voice you can help in the prevention of an attack?   Criminals pick and choose who they believe will be an easy target.  They will attack when they see the opportunity to victimize the weak non-confident inattentive person.  They don’t want complication; they will take the easy prey.  Criminals will usually act on premeditated terms or will watch the victim ahead of time.  If your walk is exuberating self confidence and show strength it’s most likely they will not choose you as their next victim.

Taking a good look around your surroundings can prove to be very beneficial to you.  If you see someone who is well dressed, don’t dismiss them, they can very well be your attacker.  Never choose a book by it's cover as the old saying goes.  Using your voice and yelling out to the potential attacker to “STOP” or “GET BACK” while being approached will mostly likely stop an assailant from attacking.  They don’t want someone who is going to put up a fight.  Remember, they prey on the weak.

Putting up a verbal self defense or verbal boundary is a great part of self defense training.  Many who have been trained in this were amazed at how a threatening individual was put back by someone yelling in an assertive, strong, loud voice to “BACK OFF” or "I HAVE A WEAPON".  The potential attacker did exactly that. Of course if you say you have a weapon you better have it and in ready mode.

Of course it goes without say if you don’t have your self defense weapon in your hand and in ready mode it won’t help you.  Knowing your weaponry is also very beneficial, if you don’t know how to use it properly this can hurt you.
Once you purchase a self defense weapon make sure you continually practice with it until you are confident in its use.  By doing this you will also be able to see how far it will spray, what’s going to be your level of distance so it’ll reach your attacker sufficiently.  There are many factors that should be taken into consideration.  This is why it’s so important to practice with your new self defense weapon no matter which you choose.

Remember to use your voice.  Yell out to the potential attacker.  Let him know you aren’t going to take his abuse.  Carry your self defense device on you at all times and have it readily available for use.  Show confidence in your walk, your voice.  Chances are your attacker will walk away to other pastures.
