Pepper spray, Stun Guns, TASER, which should you choose?

In most states when carrying self protection weapons you don't have to worry about getting a permit to carry, however a few do require it depending on which less-lethal weapon you choose to carry.   However these self defense devices should not be taken lightly and used with extreme caution.

Many people are choosing to carry less lethal protection methods as taser guns, stun guns and pepper sprays rather than using lethal guns today.  It's been reported by Gun shop owners that self protection weapons are being chosen over hand guns.  This is probably due to individuals not feeling comfortable or fear of using firearms.

Choosing the correct self protection weapons can be a daunting task.  There are so many brands, styles, sizes to choose from today it makes it difficult to choose which weapon is the right weapon for you.  With all the different types, styles, sizes it’s no wonder people have a difficult time making a choice. It's definitely a personal choice and one that can only be made by you, whether it be pepper spray, stun guns, batons or a Taser gun.

Pepper spray is the most affordable option out of the above listed products, however it’s about how you want to protect you and not about buying what’s cheapest. 

Pepper sprays for the most part come in canister styling however they also come disguised as weights, lipsticks, pens, pagers and more, depending on which you choose you can have a 25 feet distance between you and your attacker, with costs starting at approximately $8.

Stun guns can be larger in size, come in many different styles and voltage levels and also disguised as cell phones, lipsticks, flashlights with costs ranging between $20 up to $90, keep in mind you will need close encounter with the attacker in order for the stun gun to perform.

TASER guns are the most expensive on the market with costs starting at approximately $250 to $1000,  purchasing cartridges also add to the costs.  These self defense devices are the ultimate in protection and will give you up to 15 feet distance, can be shot anywhere on the body and will penetrate through up to 2" of clothing. 

All of these self protection weapons are good choices and if used properly will do the job they are meant to do.  It's a matter of personal choice for you, what you can afford and how you want to protect you.  Allow careful consideration in your protection needs prior to purchasing any self defense devices because in the end you want the right weapon for you!
