Stun Guns or Taser - Which Is Right For You

       



Men or women need to ensure their personal safety in the event of an attack. Individuals should provide themselves with a form of preparation if someone should try to harm you. Because of this it’s strongly advised that you take the time to make sure you are purchasing the right self defense weapon. Stun guns and TASER guns are not one in the same. With a stun gun you will be able to take down your assailant by utilizing a less-lethal short burst of high voltage shock. If you are approached by an attacker your first option should be to try and get away from the situation.  If you are unable to escape you will need to take control and stand your ground against the attacker.  It's best to not use methods as a handgun or knife, these items can be taken from you and used against you with deadly results.  However there are those out there that choose these types of weapons and that's their choice of weaponry.  Utilizing a less lethal weapon as pepper spray, stun guns or martial arts training is highly recommended.

Martial arts training is an effective defense however it takes many years of training to perfect and isn't the defense method for many.  There are those who simply do not want this type of training or aren't physically capable. 

Self defense sprays allow you a safe distance between you and the attacker. Depending on which style you choose you can get up to 25 feet of distance, however most pepper sprays range from 8 to 12 feet.  Beware, if the attacker is wearing some sort of face garment or other covering there's a good chance that spraying him or her with pepper spray will not affect them.  

Utilizing stun guns may be a better choice for you, however try to stun the attacker to the upper hip or shoulder area for better results.  Using a stun gun will deliver shock to your assailant and incapacitate him or her.  The longer you can hold the stun gun on the attacker the better results you will have.  Keep in mind that using stun guns do require close encounter with the attacker, however in many situations you will be in this situation anyway.

If you are someone who doesn't want any contact with the attacker if at all possible, then the Taser gun is the right weapon of choice.  This tool also serves as a back-up stun device if needed.  The Taser gun will give you up to 15 feet of distance.

While you may be utilizing some form of self defense whether it be martial arts, pepper spray, stun guns or a TASER gun, always keep your safety first, try to stay composed and in control, exuding confidence and fight will all you have.  Make sure you know your weapon of choice, how to use it and always have it readily available and in ready mode.

What States are Stun Guns Illegal?

The recognition of stun guns as successful self defense weapons is beyond a doubt at its highest level. This for the most part is due to the enormous technology in today’s weaponry. This wonderful technology has produced stun guns that are dependable, helpful and cheap.


The local and state laws in every state vary and will depend on whether or not you can in fact own one of these wonder devices.
In many states stun guns are legal to carry for defending yourself. Forty two states allow individuals to carry a stun gun. They are considered to be a less lethal weapon.

Hawaii, Illinois, Mass, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island however do not allow you to carry stun guns. These restriction laws are against the Second Amendment but we as sellers are restricted from shipping to these states.

I don’t know about you but I have to wonder who the law is designed for, the criminal or the victim?
