Choice In Women Self Defense Weapons
Self defense is an increasing predicament for women; in a brutal globe we live in, particularly given that the greater part of women essentially know their assailant. This puts women at a larger level drawback since they may not imagine that there may be a threat. The most frequently used self defense weapons for women are stun guns, TASER C2 and pepper sprays.
Women exist with a firm amount of vicious crimes taking place. A woman 21 years or older has a one in four possibility of becoming a victim of a brutal crime in her life span. There is many informational tools that woman can use to help aid them in reducing their chances of becoming a statistic. These tools will allow you to be more educated on alertness, staying focused and how to fight back.
Self defense weapons will also aid you in defending against a would-be attacker.

Pepper sprays trigger the eyes to tear, burn and sometimes temporary blindness occurs. Pepper sprays come in a variety of styles and sizes, they are compact, affordable and easy to conceal. An example would be the Lipstick pepper spray it’s small, looks just like an ordinary lipstick and will leave your attacker confused for up to 45 minutes. Enough time for you to get to safety or go to the police.

Stun guns are widely used by women – they are small compact self defense weapons that pack a lot of power yet will not cause permanent damage. The PRETENDER is a very popular stun gun model. It looks just like a cell phone; it has a very bright LED light and packs 4.5 million volts. It comes with either a black or pink casing and is one of the top selling self defense weapons for a woman.

The TASER C2 is the weapon of choice for civilian use. It uses electrical currents to disrupt voluntary control of the muscles. If someone is struck by a TASER C2 they will encounter a stimulation of their motor and sensory nerves, resulting in acute involuntary muscle spasm. The TASER C2 will deliver a strong electrical shock while you are up to 15 feet away from you would-be attacker. This defense device will also penetrate through up to two inches of clothing. This self defense weapon is the ultimate device as you do not have to have any contact with the attacker.
Violent behavior unfortunately comes regardless of measures you may have taken to elude it. There is usually no chance to call for help, and a woman is required to encounter her attacker on her own. These self defense weapons; stun guns, pepper sprays and TASER will help aid you in defending yourself and help your confidence knowing you have a tool that can dramatically help you to ward off an attacker.

Stun Guns. A Perfect Self Defense Weapon

Stun guns can successfully be used as a self defense weapon. One should carry a stun gun while walking, jogging, in your car, everywhere. Stun guns are a small electrical weapon with two electrodes extending out from its base. Stun guns are compact enough to carry in the palm of your hand, your pocket, purse or anywhere! When you set off the stun gun, it exudes high voltage and a small amount of amperage. Because the amperage is at a very low concentration, stun guns are considered as a less-lethal weapon as you will not cause any severe and lasting injuries. Most people believe that the voltage is what makes the stun gun, not true, it is the amperage!
Stun guns will immediately incapacitate an attacker utilizing 3 to 5 second contact with your target. The voltage of the stun guns will instantly translate the individual’s blood sugar into lactic acid. This instantaneously depletes the assailant’s muscle energy and the attacker cannot move about. The neurological impulse which directs and controls muscle movement is interrupted. The attacker will become unstable, puzzled, will not be able to stand. This situation will remain for 5 to 10 minutes, long enough for you to seek help and/or just get to safety.
When you touch your target with Stun guns they are more successful when you reach from the waste up to the shoulder area. This way the whole body will be affected. By touching someone’s leg or arm only, lessons the chances that the stun gun will have the same affect as hitting from the waste and up to the shoulders. By you turning on the stun gun and discharging it can be enough to send a would-be attacker off in the other direction as the sound from the electrodes are loud and offensive.
Stun guns are effective on any sized person and will not loose its affect due to alcohol or drug use.
Stun guns are a highly effective self defense device, one should make sure that you always keep the battery charged and carry with you at all times.
Self Defense Weapons - There All Good
Everyone has the right to defend themselves. A right to protect ourselves with whatever power is relatively required against any attack. Because we are the primary line of defense critical of anyone trying to hurt us, it is our responsibility to be highly equipped in advance in the event of an attack. Furthermore, law enforcement is not available to guard us at all times; we owe it to ourselves to have the greatest self-defense weapons accessible to us.
In my opinion, stun guns are one of the best self-defense weapons. Stun guns use high voltage, but low current electrical discharge to overpower the body's voluntary muscles. This causes the attacker to lose balance and become taken aback. After an assailant is struck with a stun gun he will drop right away and will stay down long enough for you to get away. Stun guns are less-lethal and do not produce everlasting harm.
Pepper Sprays are an alternative in self-defense weapons. The compound found in the pepper spray, Capsaicin is a derivative from chili plants. This causes the inflammation of the mucous membranes, in doing so makes breathing very difficult. Pepper Sprays also cause the veins in the eyes to swell, making it nearly impossible to see. Your assailant will experience a harsh burning feeling in the eyes, nose, throat and skin. All these symptoms and irritation could render your attacker harmless and powerless for up to 45 minutes. Pepper sprays are an excellent option for anyone looking for a self-defense weapon that is effective, compact and reasonably priced.
Martial arts training is another successful method of self-defense weapon if physically able. Although these teachings are not for everyone, this method will educate you on the proper use of your hands, legs and body movements in general to sufficiently disable your assailant. There are techniques you can use against several attackers, psychological tools that stop you from freezing under emergency circumstances and injurious movements that are helpful in any encounter to reduce the authority of a larger person. You can remove weapons from an armed assailant barehanded utilizing these techniques.
At the same time all of these self defense weapons can help in defending yourself in a physical manner, the mind-set is also of supreme significance in any crisis. At all times be emotionally and bodily ready, as you will not know if and when you might need to defend yourself. Keeping yourself in control is key whether you are using a self defense weapon or are physically challenging your attacker!

Pepper Sprays - How to Antidote

It's good to know a defense pepper spray antidote, in case spray is ever blown back on you, or in case you accidentally spray yourself or someone else. Since pepper spray is oil based (derived from oleoresin capsicum) it simply won’t wash away with just water unless applied over an extended period of time (say 30 minutes or more). We have discovered a couple of antidotes that work better than any of the OC decontamination treatment products on the market.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have been contaminated with pepper spray especially in the face DO NOT RUB the contaminated area because it will not remove or stop the side effects. Resist this urge as much as possible.
Pepper spray is an inflammatory agent. It is designed to inflame your capillaries and cause a horrific burning sensation. When you touch a contaminated area you aid the pepper spray in opening up the capillaries. And the instant you do this the burning sensation will increase tenfold and it will spread.
Stopping the Burn
There is no easy or pain free way to cure pepper spray contamination and different people react differently to pepper sprays. So what removing techniques work for some may not work for others. But through our experience the how to steps below will help you get through the experience with the least amount of discomfort possible.
Our first aid recommendation for pepper spray removal is to start with applying whole milk to the affected area. You can apply it to the affected area via a spray bottle, splash it directly on your skin, saturate a clean towel and lay it over the affected area or submerse the affected area. The milk should help take the burn away. However, this will not remove the oils in the pepper spray. For getting the oils off we recommend using the below antidote.
Removing the Pepper Spray Oil from Your Skin
Use a solution of 25% “Dawn” dishwashing detergent and 75% water. You can probably get away with lessless detergent but we have always used this formula. Use cold water and make up at least a gallon because you are going to have to wash the affected area at least 7 to 8 times.
If your face is contaminated mix the detergent in a bowl that that is deep enough to immerse your face in for 10 or 15 seconds at a time. Let the detergent start to do its job of breaking down the oils. Do not use your hands or a cloth to wipe the solution away. Just let it sit. Once you have done this a few times you can start lightly using your hands (after they have been dipped in the solution) or use a solution-saturated towel to work the detergent into your skin. This is most likely going to activate your capillaries and the pepper sprays. This is normal so try to remain calm and patient. Decontaminating yourself from pepper spray can take as little as 15 minutes to as much as 45 minutes before symptoms subside. Recovery depends greatly on your skin type.
Once you can readily touch your face without too much discomfort, you can use a little more pressure to work the solution in. Once you are to this point rinse your face between the applications of the solution. You may even wish to make up a new smaller batch of solution that is clean and does not have any oil residue in it. Because your skin will absorb some of the oils you will not be able to completely wash it out. But by this time at least the effects will be tolerable.
If you get pepper spray in your eyes when wearing contacts, take them out as soon as you possibly can. Throw them away: getting the pepper spray off them will be practically impossible. Blinking helps wash the capsicum from the eyes, which isn't much comfort to someone who has to spend the next half hour waiting for the pain to diminish. You can also try flushing eyes with saline solution.
What Happens When You Have Been Sprayed with Pepper or Defense Spray
Unlike tear gas, which wears off fairly quickly and can be (to some extent) washed off, pepper sprays main ingredient hangs in there, causing serious discomfort for more than a half hour after exposure and even after attempts at washing away. Capsicum creates heat and minor nerve irritation, actually reducing other signals sent from nerves to the brain. The debilitating effects last for more than 30 minutes, and lessen over several hours.
When you spray an attacker with pepper spray, the body's reaction is immediate. The eyes shut automatically, causing temporary blindness, and the sprayed person, unable to see, often panics. The mucus membranes of the mouth, nose, eyes and respiratory airways react defensively to the capsicum burn, producing tears, a running nose, saliva and coughing as the irritated cells in the airways and lungs try to rid themselves of the chemical. The sprayed person may try to rub his eyes, but rubbing pepper spray tends to spread it around a bit more and can make the burning worse as it further penetrates the skin. As well as irritating the face, pepper spray causes the same burning sensation you get when you bite into a hot pepper masquerading as a green bean in that innocent-looking Thai dish. It hurts everything it touches, and yet it doesn't kill you, or even leave you maimed. (There have been a few reported, but unsubstantiated, deaths from pepper spray. These events have usually occurred when law enforcement officers fail to follow after spray procedures. Some asthmatics have suffered anaphylactic shock from pepper spray. However, the reported instances of death from pepper sprays are very few and very unusual).
Pepper Spray and Allergic Reactions
Although, there are no known specific lethal dose or lethal concentration listed on the Materials Safety Data Sheet for OC it has been implicated in the deaths of some individuals sprayed with it. These people had a violent allergic reaction that was life threatening known as anaphylaxis. Symptoms of this condition include obstructed airways as a result of swelling, fainting and shock. Those with a higher risk of an adverse reaction to pepper spray are asthmatics. Recently reported in a history of violent behavior and confrontations with law enforcement was another bizarre risk factor, although this may be because the people had a higher probability of exposure or a higher probability to have multiple exposures to give allergic sensitization. If you have asthma but would like to carry tear gas for self-defense then you may want to consider a formulation that doesn’t contain oleoresin capsicum if you are worried about the possible wind blowback or at least get a foam type spray to avoid the risk of airport OC particles. However, the use of foam does not reduce the risk of a bad reaction should the assailant take the spray and use it against you. This shows the importance of using the pepper sprays only in defense of people and not property because of this reaction. In these litigious times it also adds potential liability.

And the answer is? Self Defense Weapons
Pepper Sprays, Stun Guns, TASER, Personal Alarms, Home Surveillance
It seems not that long ago things appeared to be so much easier. Yes people struggled financially to make ends meet…..
but what about how it was?
• Men would leave the house daily, going to work to make the best living they could for their families….
• Women on the most part stayed at home to tend to house chores and the children….
• Supper was the main event of the day…. The family would sit around the table talking frantically about their day…..
• Your children would walk to school holding their books with no worries in the world except maybe about the neighborhood bully….
• You thought nothing of leaving your home unlocked, maybe taking a walk to the corner market….Things were just all around simpler then.
Look at it now…..
• It takes two incomes just to try and make ends meet……
• Dinner? What’s that?....Try getting everyone together at one time to sit down, eat and have a civil conversation….
• Walk to school? Waiting for the school bus can be a hazard these days. You read in the news all the time how someone tried to abduct a child while standing at their bus stop or on the school grounds.
• Leave your home unlocked? Absolutely not in today’s world! Leaving it locked doesn’t help never mind an open invitation for someone to just walk in.
• Rape occurs at the rate of 1 in every 5 women in college….
• Muggings, robberies, killings, happening every minute every day all over United States.
It’s time the good people took a stand with Less Lethal Weapons
Self Defense Weapons, Personal / Home Alarms and Surveillance Systems have become an important part of our everyday lives. These devices can and have been known to aid you in defending yourself, your home and your business.
In today’s world every individual should be equipped with pepper sprays, stun guns or a TASER device. These self defense weapons are compact and can be carried on your person easily. I suggest Less Lethal Weapons as defense as some of us are not comfortable with carrying lethal weapons.
Pepper sprays, stun guns, personal alarms and even TASER are not meant for lethal action against anyone, they are a great tool for self defense and if used properly they will in deed do the job they are suppose to. These tools are a deterrent; you aim, shoot and run to safety.
Your home and business should also be a priority. Home alarms and/or surveillance systems have come along way today. Most home alarms are very easy to install, they are compact, make a lot of noise and can be taken with you anywhere.
Surveillance systems are very sophisticated today. You can view in real-time, meaning you can be anywhere in the world and as long as you have internet access, you can view what’s going on where your system is installed. Surveillance systems come in a large variety and there’s one for every budget.

What to do for Self Defense?

There are many things you can do when it comes to self defense to improve your odds of keeping safe and sound. You should perform target practice with your self defense weapon and you should always stay in tuned to your surroundings and take a self defense class. It will not only get you in shape it will help in defending yourself!
There are many instructional avenues out there for you to learn about defense. Take advantage as you can learn quite a bit so you will have better knowledge in the event you are approached by an attacker. This will give you an edge if you have to physically ward off a person. Scout out local instructional classes in your area or buy a self defense training video to train at home. This will at least teach you the basic moves of defense against an attacker. If you should decide to take a class or self teach, practice the moves over and over again so you will be better prepared and remember what you have learned.
Staying safe means constantly looking around at your surroundings, beware of what’s going on. While walking make sure you keep your head up and moving in a circular motion exuding confidence so you keep awareness in your mind. The last thing you want to do is make yourself look like an easy target to a would-be attacker. Walking with your head down and not paying attention is a disaster waiting to happen. Your would-be attacker will know this! It also allows him/her to come at you by surprise.
Never let your guard down to an attacker. The last thing they want is attention drawn at them. Your assailant would not expect it and this might help you as he/she might be thrown off by that. Make a lot of noise, scream as loud as you can, yelling, the assailant will not be expecting this reaction and might just want to get out of there before any attention is drawn to the situation. Never allow yourself to be an easy target.

To help avoid these types of situations, meaning, physical contact you should carry a self defense weapon at all times. Pepper Sprays, Stun Guns and TASER products are all good choices for self defense weapons. It is most important that you however, choose which one is right for you. Personal Alarms are also a great defense device. They might not look like much but they can put out some very loud sound. These devices are meant to draw attention. Whichever self defense weapon you choose to carry, make sure you ALWAYS have it in the on and ready position. It will not do you any good if you have it tucked away somewhere! Your weapon needs to be located where you have immediate access.
The best SELF DEFENSE tip I can give you is to always try to stay safe, out of precarious situations, walk with someone else if possible and in lit areas and carry a Self Defense Weapon. Make sure you are fully versed on its operation and make a lot of noise. Remember noise attracts attention. The last thing your attacker wants is attention.
